Shou Sugi Ban är en japansk teknologi som är designad för att producera exceptionella träprodukter genom att behandla trä med eld. Våra mästare bränner det förberedda träet i en speciell “Shou sugi ban”-ugn, tack vare vilken ett unikt och hållbart kolskikt bildas. Den speciella Shou Sugi Ban-tekniken vi använder är inspirerad av gamla japanska traditioner.
Yakisugis historia
Yakisugi (焼杉) är ett traditionellt japanskt sätt att elda ved. Yaki betyder att värma med eld och sugi är cypress. I väst kallas det också förkolnat (bränt) trä och är också känt som “Shou Sugi Ban” (焼杉板).
Genom att bränna träets yta vid mycket hög temperatur blir träet vattentätt och mer hållbart, skyddat från skadedjur och eld.
Uthållig skönhet och primal styrka
Eldens huvudsakliga kraft förblir synlig i träets färg och struktur. Alla träslag som används har sin egen unika struktur och tillämpning både vad gäller estetisk och fysisk struktur.
